After 2 cancelled editions due to Covid, the OCR European Championships<\/a> happened in Tesero \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf9 from 10 to 12 June 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the concept known from 2016 went through a revolution: instead of having the possibility to retry each obstacle until to succeed, all hanging obstacles (~30 obstacles for the standard race) have only one attempt. Before the race, each athlete received 3 tyvek wristbands, one wristband is lost when one hanging obstacle is failed. When the 3 wristbands are lost, the athlete is not ranked. This new concept is the solution found to avoid queuing. Despite this new concept, queues have formed for Age Group waves (up to few minutes of waiting!). For athletes, this new concept is a huge change and we seen a lot of Age Group athletes waiting before attempting an obstacle; for them finishing with at least one wristband was the main goal. Fortunately, the weather was sunny during all the weekend otherwise with this new concept the number of ranked athletes would have been very small.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the standard race, the performance of this weekend has been made by Luca Pezzani who finished 7th<\/sup> in elite! It\u2019s currently the best result of a Swiss during the OCR European Championships, congratulations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team race<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For the team race, the concept of 3 wristbands is the same. But to rank a team, the 3 athletes must finish the race with at least 1 wristband each.
For our country, we had only one team in the category National Team Mix composed by Fabiola Assuelli, Micha\u00ebl Mathieu and Armando Schwarzmann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
